AI Qur'an ("we", "our", or "the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. You choose a personal handle (username) at registration — we do not auto-generate one.

Optional profile information. You may voluntarily provide preferred language, Arabic reading level, learning goal, country, and age range. All profile fields can be updated or removed at any time.

Study activity. Bookmarks, notes, and highlights you create are stored and linked to your account. This data is not shared with third parties.

Usage data. We use analytics tools to understand feature usage and product performance (page views, navigation, search, study interactions). We also retain basic server logs (IP address, page requests, timestamps) for security purposes for up to 30 days.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Artificial Intelligence

AI Qur'an uses a combination of proprietary and licensed third-party AI technologies to power study features such as tafsir explanations and question answering. When you submit a query, it is processed by one or more AI systems to generate a response. Queries are not linked to your account when transmitted to AI providers.

AI-generated responses are for educational purposes only and do not constitute religious rulings or scholarly opinions.

4. Third-Party Services

Imagery. Landscape photography in the Immersive Qur'an feature is sourced from licensed photography services. No personal data is transmitted.

Audio. Qur'anic recitation audio is streamed from an authorised audio provider. No personal data is transmitted.

Email. We use an SMTP email service to deliver verification and notification messages to you.

Analytics. We use an analytics service to understand feature usage and product performance (page views, navigation, search, study interactions).

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on a secured server. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plaintext. We use HTTPS to encrypt data in transit.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no system is completely secure. Use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised account access.

6. Data Retention

Your account and associated data are retained for as long as your account exists. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
